About · Since 2021
We're breaking borders, not people.
Mission
To unite international and immigrant students through meaningful service, turning shared work into lasting belonging.
Vision
A world where every student who crosses a border finds a community waiting on the other side.
Our story
Breaking Borders started in 2021 in a crowded dorm kitchen, where five students from five countries realized they'd each spent their first semester abroad feeling invisible.
They decided to do something about it — not with another mixer, but with work that mattered. Their first project, a weekend food drive, collected 800 meals and introduced dozens of students who'd never met.
Today we're a growing network of chapters, partnering with Rotaract and local nonprofits to bring international and immigrant students together around service.
